Sarah DeVoe, LMFT

Sarah DeVoe  has joined Anchor Counseling Center and is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, who earned her Master’s degree in Human Development and Family Studies with a concentration in Couple & Family therapy from the University of Rhode Island. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Family Studies and Psychology from Central Michigan University. Sarah has over seven years of experience in the field, spending the past four years working with children and families in need in the state of Rhode Island.

Sarah has extensive experience in providing crisis intervention and advocacy, primarily with survivors of sexual violence, abuse and neglect, stalking and other traumatic experiences. She has over 200 hours of training in trauma-focused therapies and advocacy assistance. Her primary specialty is working with adolescents and young adults, and also has experience in working with children and adults in multiple capacities. She also specializes in treating individuals and their families struggling with primary and secondary trauma. Sarah uses a multifaceted approach to therapy to meet clients where they are and to suit their individual needs.

Sarah is a member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT) and the Rhode Island Association of Marriage and Family Therapy (RIAMFT). She is pursuing her AAMFT Approved Supervisor designation, and is available to supervise clinicians seeking licensure in marriage and family therapy. Sarah is very excited to be a part of the Anchor Counseling Center team, and will be seeing clients at the Cranston and East Greenwich locations beginning in February.
