Dan has extensive experience working within a diverse, multicultural community, including with persons who identify as gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, or other sexual orientations and gender expressions or identities. He strives to practice cultural humility and to understand the role that oppression can play in daily life stressors. He partners with each client to create a safe, nonjudgmental, and casual environment in which they may feel heard and empowered to explore and pursue the goals that are important to them. Dan works with each individual to establish a strength-based therapy approach that will meet their specific needs, incorporating methods of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Mindfulness, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Life Coaching, and Trauma-Focused interventions.
