Allison Gajramsingh, LMHC

Hello, my name is Allison Gajramsingh. I am a licensed mental health counselor (LMHC) providing outpatient therapy services to adolescents, adults, couples, and families at Anchor Counseling Center in Lincoln. I completed my Master’s degree in Education and Human Development with a focus on Community Counseling at George Washington University in Washington, D.C. in 2006, and have worked in various settings since that time, including residential, in-home, school-based, and private practice.

Prior to joining the team at Anchor, I supervised a school-based therapy program that served kids ages 3 to 18 in the school setting. Additionally, I worked part-time in a private practice setting, providing therapy to adults, couples, and families. My family recently relocated to New England from Ohio, and I’m excited to be joining Anchor!

While I enjoy helping clients address many different types of issues , my specialties include working with individuals struggling with depression, anxiety, and mental illness, couples or individuals struggling with relationship issues and communication, parents struggling with managing their child’s behavior, and individuals coping with traumatic childhood experiences.

I use techniques including talk therapy, cognitive behavioral techniques, behavior modification, and systemic family therapy to help clients understand why their experiences unfold the way they do. From there, I help them develop healthier responses to everyday stressors. My goal is to help individuals and couples learn techniques that will allow them to manage themselves more effectively on a daily basis, and to utilize resources in a positive way.
