Jessica Martin, LMHC

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor who received her Masters Degree and Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies from Salve Regina University. I currently provide counseling in a private setting for Anchor Counseling Center in the East Greenwich office.

I use a evidenced based, holistic approach to health and healing by incorporating traditional CBT with mindfulness, art, and somatic understanding to tap into your instinctive need to heal. Stress and pain can wreak havoc in your life through self-sabotaging behaviors and somatic manifestations.

I specialize in treating anxiety, grief and loss, primary and secondary trauma survivors who are experiencing difficulties regaining balance in their lives. I also enjoy working with military, law enforcement, first responders and their families as they struggle with the unique challenges presented by their occupation.

I utilize treatment methodologies that are holistic, evidence-based and reflect the most recent research findings. At Anchor Counseling Center, she strives to provide a safe, respectful, and comfortable environment for all clients. Together we can take the first steps in the process of becoming your best self.

I utilize a variety of theories when working with adolescents and adults, including Mindful Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Art Therapy, Family Therapy, body sensory, and Solution Focused Therapy. I believe when we know better, we do better, I believe in a cooperative Cognitive Behavioral approach and psycho-education to help clients understand where the emotions are generated and how to manage their reactions.

Jessica holds certifications for Critical Incident Stress Management level One and Level Two: Peer Support and Crisis Intervention. Jessica is also a former certified trainer for the RI Municipal Police Academy in Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault.
